Welcome to Essayly! These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of Essayly ("Essayly", "we," "us," or "our"), an AI-powered platform operated by Shenyang Ruishechi Education Technology Co., Ltd., a company registered in China. Essayly helps students craft admission materials such as personal statements, statements of purpose, supplemental essays, and resumes. By using Essayly, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use our services.

1. Eligibility

Essayly is available to all users globally. Users under the age of 18 may use the platform without parental consent. By using the service, you represent and warrant that you have the right, authority, and capacity to enter into these Terms.

2. Account Registration

To access Essayly, you must create an account and provide accurate, complete information. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account.

3. Services Overview

Essayly allows users to purchase credits, each of which can be used to generate a full application package for one academic program. This includes:

• One personal statement (for undergraduate applicants) or statement of purpose (for graduate applicants)
• Up to five supplemental essays
• One resume

All content is generated autonomously by AI based on user-provided information.

4. Credits, Payments, and Refund Policy

• Payments are one-time and processed securely through Stripe (including credit card and Alipay).
• Credits are non-refundable once purchased.
• Credit Use: Each credit can be used only for one academic program application.
• Rewrite Policy: You may request up to two rewrites for any combination of essays or resume per program.
• Refund Eligibility: Credits may only be refunded to your account if a system error prevents access to your requested essays or resume. No cash refunds are offered under any circumstances.

5. Ownership and Content Rights

• You retain full ownership of the content Essayly generates for you.
• By using the service, you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free, irrevocable license to use anonymized versions of generated content for internal training and marketing purposes.

6. User Conduct and Prohibited Activities

You agree not to:

• Attempt to reverse engineer, extract, or probe the underlying prompts or training methods of our AI systems
• Inject malicious prompts intended to uncover proprietary or personal information
• Use the service for any purpose other than writing application materials for academic programs
• Attempt unauthorized access to our systems or other user data

Violation of this section may result in immediate termination of your account without refund.

7. Privacy and Data

You may submit personal or sensitive data (e.g., names, schools, grades) to generate accurate content. Essayly securely stores submitted and generated content, and uses anonymized outputs for internal improvements. For more information, please see our [Privacy Policy].

8. AI Limitations

Essayly provides AI-generated content based on the information you submit. While we strive for accuracy and quality, we do not guarantee:

• The suitability of content for any domain beyond admissions
• That content will meet admission outcomes or institutional standards

Use your judgment and review all generated material before submission.

9. Third-Party Services

Essayly uses third-party services such as Supabase, OpenAI, Google Auth, and Stripe. We are not responsible for service outages, limitations, or errors caused by these providers.

10. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account at our discretion, particularly for violations of these Terms. In cases of serious misconduct (e.g., malicious attacks, unauthorized probing), we reserve the right to terminate access without refund.

11. Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability

The services are provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Essayly disclaims all warranties, including but not limited to fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or reliability of generated content. In no event shall Essayly be liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising out of or related to your use of the service.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms at any time. Continued use of the service after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
