The Canada Lands Company Limited is public non profit organization which is indulged in providing automobile insurance coverage to motorists in Manitoba (Theaker, 2017).
Thesis statement
What are the reasons which resulted to statement that the informal life of public organizations: a tragedy
What are the issues and problems faced by the Canada Lands Company Limited?
Theories
Sociology theory
In sociology, the interactionist can be defined as the aspects related to the communication by one person to another. In Canada Lands Company Limited, the interaction is made at the level where interaction includes the identity formation, cooperation and conflicts issues resolved. Interaction is a theory in which the managers and directors will indulged in mitigating the issues and challenges in Canada Lands Company Limited that will arise while interaction. In Canada Lands Company Limited, the informal life of the people is found to be easy and simple as they have scope to explore and interact a lot after their fixed hour’s jobs (Benington, 2011).
The interaction done by the employees and staff members of Canada Lands Company Limited is found to be less as compared to the people working in the private entity. The employees of Canada Lands Company Limited have less confidence and potential to have interaction freely without any cause or reason. This is the only reason they have less informal meets and enjoyments. The informal life of an employee in Canada Lands Company Limited has low scope to be increased (Diefenbach & Sillince, 2011).
Economics theory
In Buchanan theory of economics, choice of public will be taken into consideration. This theory focuses on the decision-making process within the political arena. Buchanan has used both the fields of economics and political science to help in understanding the choice of the public in an organization (Theaker, 2017This theory relates to interpreting the behaviour of people and their decision in Canada Lands Company Limited. It is generally found in that employee in Canada Lands Company Limited make their decision based upon their own self-interest (Gardner, 2011).
Public choice theory when applied in Canada Lands Company Limited, it can be analysed that the informal life of the people working in the organization is a fortune. The employees working in Limited are blessed with free time for their lives as they have limited office hours. But on the other hand, the lifestyle of employee in Canada Lands Company Limited is a tragedy as the staff or managers are weak, fearful, and resistant to change to accept new things. In resistant attitude among the employees of public organization makes their informal life difficult (Argyris, 2017).
Management Approach
The main objective of the management theory is to get the work done effectively and efficiently in the organization while utilizing all the resources with due care. There are various approaches in management, but one of the approaches is given by the Taylor in the year 1911. In this theory, he talked about the economic efficiency especially the productivity by the labour in the organization should be maintained all the period of time. Taylor has given focus on the four principles that should be applied in all the organization which includes the science not the rule of thumb, individualism, not cooperation, harmony not discard (Gardner, 2011).
These principles have to be applied in all the organization to get the best result from an organization irrespective of the nature of the organization. This approach is also used in the employee in Canada Lands Company Limited to get the best work from the staff and also to maintain the coordination among the people in the entity (Silverstone, 2017). This principle not only helps in working employee in Canada Lands Company Limited to make a happy working environment but also give an environment to sustain for a long time period. In other words, it can be said that the informal communication will be there in the organization which helps the employees to survive for a longer duration. On the other hand, an informal lifestyle of the government organization people is lethargic and they are not initiators and not interested to participate in new things while interacting within Canada Lands Company Limited (Theaker, 2017).
Organizational theory
The organizational theory consists of various approaches to analyse the organization and its behaviour. Organizational theory and its approaches are used for analysing and understanding the social behaviour of the individual in the organization towards others. One of the organizational approaches is given by Simon in the year 1981. Simon has given the theory on the behaviour of the individual working in an organization. Simon given the theory which relates to the administrative behaviour that clarifies the processes by which the goal of an organization can be specified and formalized to contribute towards the rational behaviour in the organization (Cattan,Hogg, & Hardill, 2011).
It can be seen in Canada Lands Company Limited that the decision can be simplified and supported by the participants if they pursue the self-interest in it. In a public organization, this theory has been used commonly among the organization as all the employees are there to work in the organization. But on the other side, this self-interest is of no use in making the informal life better for a person. The employee in Canada Lands Company Limited does the work when they have any interest in that work (Boonstra & Boelens, 2011).
Modernization theory
As per this theory, the entire employees in Canada Lands Company Limited are given proper training and development program so that they could adapt themselves with the modernized organizational frameworks. It helps in increasing the overall outcomes of the decisions taken by Canada Lands Company Limited and also aligns the interest of the employees with the stakeholders. This modernization theory is the key method to promote employees towards the betterment of the organization and deliver what is expected from them.
Motivational theory
This theory is implemented with a view to promote and motivate employees to deliver what is expected from them. It is analysed that in public organizations employees should be motivated by aligning their interest within Canada Lands Company Limited. In addition to this, they will also be satisfied by meeting their needs and demand from the organization.  There are several theories such as Maslow theory, ECG motivational theory which helps public organization to link their stakeholders and employees needs in market.  These motivational theory helps employees to adapt with the changing business process and implementing the strategic motivational program in effective manner.
Conclusion
From the above discussion, it can be concluded that employee in Canada Lands Company Limited are having the less informal life than as compared to the people in other private organizations. Although the employees in the public sector enjoying the other advantages of fixed working hours, long holidays and other retirement benefits but all above of that the day to day informal life is seen to be a tragedy. The informal life in Canada Lands Company Limited can be called the tragedy as the people do not have anything to explore and revive their mind. In spite of that, they prefer to remain low morale and lethargic all over their life as they do in their job work. The people working in the government sector have a direct impact on their lifestyles and their behaviour which we have analysed in the theories discussed.
