1.Explain the main concepts of Cloud Computing and why you think that a move to the Cloud could be good for MetaSoft;2.Explain some of the Cloud Architectures that you think would be useful for MetaSoft to use as part of their Cloud infrastructure.3. Each slide in the briefing must also include speaking notes in the notes section to explain the slide, and all images used in the briefing should be referenced.
Slide Note: Cloud computing helps the organizations to focus on expansion of the business instead of the IT resources such as computers and the maintenance of the infrastructure
The use of cloud minimizes the effort required to minimize the upfront cost of the organization. Most of the cloud services can be availed on a pay as you go basis and therefore it offers a cost effective solution to the clients.
Slide Note: Cloud computing is a delivery model which delivers the computing resources such as, storage, servers and database along with the networking requirements of the organization. The use of cloud computing helps in creating new applications and further helps in maintaining the data backup and the storage of the data.
Slide Note: Business makes use of IaaS for server resources. It saves the business from the upfront cost of maintaining the infrastructure. The use of IaaS helps in streamlining the different business operations and therefore it is one of the most widely adopted cloud approach.
PaaS on the other hand offers a platform for deploying the cloud services and therefore it is a cost effective alternative.  However, PaaS is concerned with certain security issues that are needed to be mitigated.
SaaS works on subscription basis and therefore and is the most cost effective solution for the organization. The organization now needs to choose an appropriate cloud approach for the organization.
Slide Note: PaaS and SaaS are not recommended for MetaSoft as it has certain security issues. IaaS is recommended since it enables the customers to have a full control of their data and the resources that has been shared. IaaS will be a secure solution of MetaSoft and therefore it is recommended. The choice of IaaS is justified since it will provide an excellent computing infrastructure to the organization.
MetaSoft is looking for a cloud based approach that will provide its staffs with the facilities of office automation including the email facilities, word processing and spreadsheet capabilities along with the online storage of file (Chou, 2013). Office automation in the cloud approach is beneficial for a business as when the office automation is transferred to cloud, it eliminates the need of complex and expensive on premises requirements. The movement of the office automation in cloud further increases the security and scalability of the data and improves the data availability as well. Apart from that, the movement of the office automation in cloud improves security aspects of the files and data stored in the system as well. The security is increased since the data stored is encrypted which can be accessed only by the individual having an authorization to access the data. The different approaches and the benefits of moving the office automation to cloud are discussed as follows-
Since the need of office automation in cloud increases with the increase in the size of the business, it is essential for a business to choose an approach which will help in easier implementation of the office automation in cloud thereby reducing the complexity of the operation (Arora, Parashar & Transforming, 2013). The two different approaches are proposed for Meta Soft includes the Ad hoc approach and the structured approach of office automation. These two approaches are one of the most widely used approaches of office automation as they ensure easy implementation process. However, in order to make a choice of which approach to be chosen, it is essential to evaluate the advantages as well as the disadvantages of each of the cloud approaches.
The first approach that is proposed for office automation in MetaSoft is the use of Ad Hoc approach in the implementation of office automation. This is one of the most widely used approaches s it has a number of benefits. The implementation time of office automation with Ad hoc approach is considerably less which is one of its significant benefits. However, one disadvantage is that the implementation of office automation with this approach can be a bit costly.
Structured approach is another proposed approach of cloud office automation. As the name suggests, in structured approach, a planned process is followed in implementation of the project which is one of its advantages (Pearson, 2013). However this might delay the process of project implementation as well which is a significant disadvantage of the approach as well.
For cloud office automation in MetaSoft, an Ad hoc approach of implementation is proposed as it will ensure the completion of the entire process as soon as possible. The structured approach on the other hand is very simple and is useful for small scale projects or organizations (Dinh et al., 2013). Furthermore, the process is quite complex and therefore, following a structured approach might result in a considerable delay in the completion of the entire project and therefore structured approach is not chosen. Ad hoc approach on the other hand is easier to implement as well.
It is essential for Meta Soft to migrate their web Infrastructure either to IaaS solution or to PaaS solution. In order to identify the best approach that MetaSoft can likely choose, it is essential to evaluate the differences between the infrastructure that is offered by IaaS and the Platform that is offered by PaaS. The main differences between the IaaS and PaaS are formulated in the table below-

Infrastructure as a service

Platform as a service

The IaaS solution provides virtualized resources for the deployment of cloud. It is one of the most important approaches of cloud. Businesses mainly make use of IaaS approach for their server resources as it helps in streamlining the different IT processes as well as save money for the process of virtualization. For an enterprise level organization, the cloud infrastructure that is mainly used is IaaS.
The use of IaaS approach involves the entire computing infrastructure as well as the resources, which includes the virtual server space, network connections along with the bandwidth and the load balancers (Garg,  Versteeg & Buyya, 2013). With IaaS the organizations do not have to spend money on the infrastructure requirements.
One of the advantages of making use of IaaS is that it is one of the most flexible approaches of   cloud.  It is flexible as it involves the automated servers and the storage deployment. With IaaS, the business is provided with an access of the different virtual resources and the components though the cloud service provider (Jain & Paul, 2013).
The service provider is in charge of managing the different operating systems, middle ware and application deployment and the entire service can be easily retrieved by the web browser.
It is one of the most secure solutions.
It is the most costly solution.

Platform as a service on the other hand provides a complete development as well as the deployment environment in the cloud.
The use of PaaS includes infrastructure such as servers, storage and networking. Platform as a Service is mainly designed in order to support a complete web application that includes lifecycle, building testing and deployment.
The use of platform as a service helps in avoiding the expenses and the complexities that is involved with the management of the software licenses along with the other applications and development tools (Rittinghouse & Ransome, 2016).
With PaaS, the users have a full control over the data that is being stored and has an authority to manage the applications as well as the services.
It is one of the most cost effective cloud solution.
However, there are certain  security issues associated with the use of PasS which are needed to be addressed.

On analysing the differences between both IaaS and PaaS, it is recommended for MetaSoft to use of PaaS to consider moving the web infrastructure to the public cloud. This approach is recommended mainly because MetaSoft is moving their web infrastructure into cloud and since Meta Soft has an existing infrastructure the use of IaaS is not needed (Moreno-Vozmediano, Montero & Llorente, 2013). PaaS on the other hand would be a cost effective solution as well.  Thus the recommendation of PaaS, is justified.
MetaSoft is considering the use of cloud to deploy the Microsoft SharePoint 2013 from its existing data centre. MetaSoft is considering the use of IaaS, PaaS and Saas. In order to evaluate which model will be better for the organization, it is essential to identify the differences between IaaS, SaaS and PaaS. The differences between the three cloud approaches,  IaaS, PaaS and SaaS are as follows-

Infrastructure as a service provides a virtualized computing resources for deployment of the cloud in the organizations
The use of IaaS involves an entire computing resource that includes virtual server space, network connection, bandwidth and load balancers (Kavis, M.2014).
It is one of the most scalable and the flexible approaches of cloud computing.
The use of IaaS provides the clients with an easy accessibility of the data stored. However, the in this approach the customers are responsible for data backups and management which is one disadvantage.
The use of IaaS will prove to be a costly solution of the organization as well.

PaaS provides a virtualized platform for deploying the cloud.
It can be accessed from a multiple platforms and from mobile devices as well.
The vendor is responsible for the data backup and the management of the servers.
There is certain security issues associated with PaaS (Azodolmolky, Wieder & Yahyapour, 2013).
However, it is one of the most cost effective cloud approaches.

SaaS allows its customers to connect over internet and it provides a complete software solution.
It works on subscription basis and can be accessed via web browsers.
The use of SaaS allows the organizations make use of the cloud platform with a minimal upfront cost.
The use of SaaS will therefore be a cost effective solution for MetaSoft.

The above table gives an idea of the services offered by IaaS, PaaS and SaaS. The choice of the approach will mainly be based on the need and the requirements of the organization (Almorsy, Grundy & Müller, 2016). The recommended approach and the issues associated with the chosen approach is discussed in the following sections.
On analysing the need of organization, it can be advised for the organization to make use of Software as a Service for its SharePoint 2013 instance. This is because the office suite office automation products are already being installed in the computers and devices of the staffs. The organization was in need of an approach that would enable the employees to access their data even from remote locations. SaaS enables the access of the data from the web browsers and from the mobile devices as well over the internet (Kavis, 2014). Therefore, it would make it easier for employees to access important data even from remote location. One of the advantages of using SaaS is that it enables the users to gain access to the sophisticated applications provided by the vendor.  Furthermore, it can be used in a subscription basis and therefore it will be a cost effective solution for MetaSoft. Thus, the choice of making use of SaaS is justified in this case.
There are a number of problems that MetaSoft might encounter while making use of SaaS. The major one is the security issue.  Along with that, SaaS has an issue of faulty integration. The security issues mainly arise because the vendors have an access to the data stored as they control the data. SaaS can be rapidly deployed and therefore certain integration problems arise (Hashizume et al., 2013). The customers have a little control of the system data processing and have no control over the software as well. These are the major issues that MetaSoft might face while making use of the SaaS.
It is essential to address the risks that can be faced by MetaSoft while making us of SaaS. In order to address the security problems, it is necessary to choose a correct vendor who will ensure data security. The integration problems can be resolved by offering a considerable time for deployment of SaaS cloud and the entire system is to be tested as well. These steps will considerably reduce the issues associated with the use of SaaS.
Since SaaS is a justified solution for MetaSoft, it is essential for the organization to address the security issues associated with SaaS.
