Answer:
Introduction:

Professional skills as well as soft-skills and group work skills are required for one to have a bright career in the modern competitive market. Soft-skills and communicational skills are some of the essential skills that will assist my learning experience as well as help me in my future career in innovation in business. Soft-skills is a term used to refer to personal attributes that enable someone to interact effectively and harmoniously with other people, (Lippman, Ryberg, Carney, and  Moore, 2015). This essay is a discussion on why soft-skills and group-work are important and valuable to my future learning experience, career prospects and more generally, innovation in business. This essay discusses what I have learned about my personal soft-skills and those of my colleagues through the Crowdicity “Me and My Strengths” challenge as well as my understanding of how the BUS10012 unit has been designed to help me acquire skills that employers seek from graduates. Soft-skills highly determine how well an individual can relate to others and this directly responds to their ability to work collectively in a group both at the learning level or the career level, (Deming, 2017). Soft-skills and group work should be encouraged among students so as to bring out graduates with all-around skills required in their future career.
Soft-skills and group work are not only important skills in my career prospects in the field of innovation in business but also in my learning experience. The process of learning requires a positive and objective interaction between me as a student and my tutors as well as with my fellow students. The various soft skills that are very essential include self-confidence, problem-solving skills, time management, good communication, and positive attitude among many more, (Claxton, Costa, and  Kellick, 2016). Through the Crowdicity “Me and My Strengths” challenge I was able to learn several personal strengths such as self-confidence, positive attitude, problem-solving skills, and good communication. My colleagues also demonstrated positive soft-skills that really help us to communicate effectively and work together in groups. Group work is important in my learning experience since it brings together students from different backgrounds and having diverse perspectives and this helps in sharing a wide range of perspectives, (Cohen and Lotan, 2014). The BUS10012 unit is designed such that there is an interactive interaction between students and this prepares us well for how we will interact with colleagues in our future career path.
Soft-skills and group work are very important in my future career perspectives because these are among the qualities employers look in graduates. In order for me to have a successful career in innovation in business; I have to develop these skills since the career involves interacting with people and working together in groups to achieve organizational objectives. These skills make a crucial contribution to my success as a professional since they help in creating an advantageous environment for me to practice all the principles of innovation in business.
One of the major importance of soft-skills and group work is that it results in increased efficiency.  Groups always work to achieve a common goal and objective. Even in the learning experience groups will help me and the other group members to master the unit objectives, (Johnson, 2017). Group work helps the individual team members to have strong soft-skills in order to interact and communicate effectively. Working in groups facilitates collective contributions that contribute to greater efficiency in work. For instance, in the task or the problem at hand is shared among the individual members and it becomes easier to solve. Furthermore, the collective contribution enables the group to finish the task faster compared to a scenario where an individual is handling a similar task.
Secondly, soft-skills and group work are very important since it facilitates idea generation.   Idea generation is a very crucial aspect of my future career in innovation in business.  Working in groups involves team discussions and these interactions inspire innovation of new ideas. Working in groups with team members that have strong soft-skills encourage members to exploit their creativity and share their ideas with the team, (Brown, 2017). Working in a team encourages team members to come up with unique and creative ideas and this is very important in my future career in innovation in business. The situation is very different in working autonomously where an individual bears full responsibility for their ideas. Working in groups, on the other hand, allows for brainstorming and considering so many options and this is the basis of innovation in business. Innovation in business aims at gaining and maintaining a competitive advantage over competitors and this involves implementing creative and unique ideas that are easily generated through working in groups.
Working in groups is very important for my future career since it helps in creating a sense of belonging in the organization and this enhances job satisfaction, (Brandler and Roman, 2015). Working as a team also provides a support mechanism for the team members since the members can trust and help each other with the various tasks facing them. Working in groups helps employees to feel being part of the organization by contributing collectively to achieve the organizational goals. This helps the team members feel that their contribution is important to the team and thus feel satisfied with their career. Employee satisfaction is very important in any organization as this greatly increases the productivity of the employee.
In conclusion, soft-skills and group-work are important and valuable to my future learning experiences, career prospects and more generally, innovation in business. The various soft skills that are very essential include self-confidence, problem-solving skills, time management, good communication, and positive attitude among many more. Working in groups has a significant importance such as increased efficiency in working, encourage the generation of ideas as well as contributing to employee productivity. Furthermore, these are skills that many employees expect graduates to possess. The BUS10012 topics and activities have been designed to help students develop soft-skills and group work skills.
